For more than 15 years, Katy Wilson has been turning her love of the land and grapes into exceptional wines, leading LaRue Wines as Proprietor and Winemaker. Under the LaRue label, she crafts small-lot Pinot Noir and Chardonnay from some of the finest vineyards along the Sonoma Coast, capturing the unique character of each site and vintage. The name LaRue honors Katy’s great-grandmother, Veona LaRue Newell, a bold and independent woman who inspired Katy’s entrepreneurial spirit.

Guided by a steadfast, non-interventionist winemaking philosophy that champions the land, Katy leaned into her passion when she launched LaRue Wines in 2009. She works closely with growers and lets the vineyards speak for themselves, creating wines defined by balance, clarity, and a true sense of place.

In 2021, Katy and her husband, David Meneses, a certified sommelier and hospitality veteran, introduced the Charlie LaRue label, named for their daughter. This line showcases Sauvignon Blanc and Cabernet Sauvignon from vineyards in Sonoma Mountain, Moon Mountain District, and Sonoma Valley, crafted to express the truest character of variety, vineyard, and vintage.

Together, LaRue and Charlie LaRue produce just 500 cases a year. As a family-owned, woman- and minority-owned winery, LaRue’s wines reflect the care, passion, and connection to the land that inspires them.
